- 83% of Canadian moms use Facebook regularly: Can you really afford not to be in the place the moms gather most.
- Moms like brands on Facebook: 47% of Canadian moms ‘like’ 1 to 5 brands, and 25% like 16 or more brands. This means that moms are inviting your content (AKA updates) into their newsfeeds. This interaction provides brands direct access to their consumers both through messages and ads that specifically target fans on Facebook.
- The average Facebook user has 130 friends: Amplification of your content can reach far beyond just your brand’s friends.
- The majority of Canadian moms log into Facebook 2 to 4 times per day. In most cases, daily, she is making more time for Facebook than she is for traditional media. Why do moms check into Facebook so often? To socialize with peers, to view the latest updates or news, participate in a game or contest, or to spread the word regarding something they feel passionate about.
- Facebook is positioned to be the leading location for moms to connect with your brand. Moms like to participate beyond just purchasing your brand’s products. They use social media to research companies or products, to solicit recommendations and share personal experiences about a service, product or brand.
Social networks, in particular Facebook have become mother’s little helper, providing her with tools to keep home life running smoothly and seamlessly. Whether it’s chatting with friends and family, researching her next purchase, or taking advantage of a discount or incentive, moms rely on social media tools to make their lives easier. Brands are welcomed and invited into her online domain but must provide her with value if they are to become brand advocates.
